I am a freelance writer and editor based in Wollongong, Australia. I offer substantive/structural edits for writers of poetry, memoir, and literary fiction as well as proofreading services for any sort of document, including all fiction, theses, copy, and journal articles.
I believe good writing is undervalued, and to write well is a specialised skill. With this in mind, I have devoted years of my life studying how to best shape words into vehicles of expression and communication. I have completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts with a major in creative writing at the University of Wollongong, graduating with first-class Honours. I am currently completing a PhD, focusing on the role of idiosyncratic metaphor in self-revelatory lyric poetry.
My poetry has been published in literary journals throughout Australia and the United States and praised by the likes of Sierra DeMulder and Alan Wearne. In 2017, award-winning poet and memoirist Fiona Wright described my voice as ‘strong and unusual’ and my poetry as ‘lyric and tender, and often shockingly, surprisingly funny’.
If you wish to work with me, please see my services page for a detailed breakdown of what I can do for you and how much it will cost. I also welcome general enquiries on my contact page.
